This weekend is the Rose Weekend Festival.  Rose Weekend is the crowing event for Elizabeth Park when the Rose Garden is in full bloom.  The Rose Garden features over 15,000 rose bushes and nearly 500 rose beds and arches which cover over two and one half acres.  Words cannot describe the Rose Garden in full bloom although "amazing" and "heavenly" come to mind.

There will be activities under a tent including arts & crafts.  Horticultural Societies and Community Organizations will be present.  And music will fill the air from 11am to 4pm on the Rose Garden Lawn.  If you get there early, there will be a Poetry Reading by the Friends & Enemies of Wallace Stevens at 1pm at the Pond House Hall.  (Dogs are not allowed in the Pond House.)  For more information on activities throughout the weekend, click here.

The Wethersfield Dog Park will be having their annual fundraiser from 10am until 3pm.  If you'd like to have some fun with your dog prior to our Canine Adventure, consider attending the event before our adventure.  It will be very convenient since the event is held in Mill Woods Park where our adventure will start.  Click here to get more information on the Wethersfield Dog Park event which includes a dog swim and vendor booths.  (Stop by our booth to say hi!)

During this time, you will also have the opportunity to work on proper greetings with both people and dogs.  (And, it will be a good opportunity to tire your dogs so they can focus during our adventure!)

Our adventure will begin at 4pm.  We will be walking the trails to the east of Mill Woods Park.  The dogs will have to focus in spite of all the wildlife on the trail.
